Throughout my life I have
stood up for and valued the
people around me.
Out of college in my first professional job I broke ranks with the central office to defend employees’ rights to collectively bargain.
I have served locally as a PTA President, a little league coach and as a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for my school district.
I served for many years on the Board of Directors for the American Civil Liberties Union where I collaborated and successfully reformed important issues like Death with Dignity, Marriage Equality, Immigration Reform and the Legalization of Medical Marijuana.
I began speaking about civil rights, immigration, and criminal justice reform first in my town to small groups, then to larger groups soon stretching across America at symposiums and conventions.
In 2001 I was invited to speak at the White House on civil rights initiatives.
As the owner of an International business I was privileged to work in many countries, with a highly diverse group of people and learned to value the opinions of others and the importance of compromise.
As your councilmember I will not only serve the citizens of District #2 but all the people of Cathedral City. I will be serving on several commissions with an emphasis on clean energy and environmental issues. I will continue my work on homeless services which will include collaboration with our other valley cities including efforts to expand low income housing opportunities in Cathedral City.
We are a military family with my husband Bob serving more than 22 years in the armed forces and we have two wonderful children, Remington and Katherine.
Bob and I have held large fundraisers for local organization like, Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club, Cathedral City Senior Center and Desert Aids Project.
I know that together, you and I, can help guide a Council that lifts our city to new heights. Part of that will mean being available to hear what is important to you. I will hold office hours, with Zoom for now, where you can share your concerns and as soon as possible and I will come to meetings in your communities as well as participate with the very successful City at your Corner events.
